Every year we say it was the best one yet, and every year we mean it. But 2025 genuinely felt different. More kids. More cities. More instructors who cared deeply about every single child in the room. And more moments that remind us exactly why we do this.
What We Ran in 2025
This was our most diverse program year to date. In addition to our flagship four-day Summer STEAM Camps, we ran Robotics Camps, Cooking Science sessions, a new Outdoor Exploration track, and our Early Childhood Enrichment programs — which welcomed some of the youngest scientists we've ever worked with.
We also expanded into two new locations this year, reaching communities that hadn't previously had access to this kind of hands-on programming. That expansion was made possible in part by the incredible support of our local sponsors and scholarship donors.
The Moments That Stayed With Us
We could fill a book with the highlights. Here are just a few:
- A 7-year-old in Gulf Shores who insisted on re-doing her bridge-building project four times until it held the most weight in her group — and then burst into tears of pride when it did.
- A pair of siblings at Fairhope who had never worked together on anything without arguing, according to their mom. By day three they were debugging code side by side without a single fight.
- The Rangeley, Maine session where a spontaneous rainstorm turned an outdoor challenge into the most memorable session of the summer. The kids loved it. The instructors deserve a raise.
"I've signed up for six camps in my life. This is the only one my son asked to go back to before we even got to the car." — Parent, Spanish Fort session
What We Learned
Every season teaches us something about what works and what doesn't. In 2025 we learned that campers who struggle most on day one often show the biggest breakthroughs by day four. The struggle isn't a sign something is wrong — it's a sign something real is happening.
We also deepened our commitment to scholarship access. No child who wants to attend STEAMCamp should be kept out by cost. In 2025 we awarded more scholarships than any previous year, and we intend to grow that number again in 2026.
Looking Ahead to 2026
Registration for Summer 2026 opens soon, and spots will go fast. We're adding new locations, a new Culinary Science track, and an expanded Homeschool program. If your child has ever shown a spark of curiosity — about how things work, why things happen, what would happen if — there's a camp designed specifically for them.
